Launch Ceremony of the National Strategy for Occupational Standards

Oman Logistics Association, represented by the Logistics Sector Skills Unit, participated in the launch ceremony of the National Strategy for Occupational Standards, organized by the Ministry of Labour under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mahad bin Saeed Baowain, Minister of Labour. The strategy aims to develop a national system of occupational standards that contributes to building an efficient labor market based on skilled national competencies and a positive work culture. This initiative is carried out in cooperation with sector skills units and under the supervision of the Ministry of Labour to endorse unified frameworks and standards. During the ceremony, the experience of the Logistics Sector Skills Unit was presented, highlighting its vital role in enhancing professional competence within the logistics sector through the development of national occupational standards. The presentation also emphasized the units contribution to supporting the goals of Oman Vision 2040, towards a knowledge-based economy and professional excellence.

February 2025, Oman Logistics Association and the signed an agreement to train a number of candidates as food delivery supervisors, based on the memorandum of cooperation between OLA, the National Employment Program, and Talabat. The agreement aims to enhance food delivery services in the Sultanate of Oman, with a particular focus on providing job opportunities for nationals in the sector. It is also one of the initiatives of the Transport and Logistics Sector employment committee incubated within the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

Memorandum of Collaboration with Ministry of Labour

January 2025, Oman Logistics Association and the Ministry of Labour signed a memorandum of collaboration to fund a vocational training program for heavy vehicles (Articulated Trucks) drivers. This is in line with Ministerial Decree No. 401/2024, which regulates the omanisation of certain professions, including heavy vehicle (Articulated Trucks) drivers for food and medical supplies (Refrigerated). The collaboration aims to provide candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate heavy vehicles in all terrains, with the goal of achieving a safer roads environment.
